Prediction Media
How results get decided
Every question names its source before you answer. Results are recorded by Prediction Media - not by Testing's newsroom.
Markets settle it
Questions that mirror a live prediction market resolve the moment the exchange publishes its official settlement. We copy the result - we never judge it.
Automatic
The source says
Questions from local coverage name a public source up front - an official reading, a published result, tomorrow's story. The outcome is recorded from that source.
Automatic, newsroom-assisted
A person decides
Anything a public source can't settle - a photo finish, a canceled event - gets a Prediction Media reviewer who reads the evidence and records the call by hand. Elections always take this path.
Human review
Nothing is wagered and points have no cash value, so a resolution is never a payout decision. We work in good faith from the stated source and decisions are final. When an event is canceled or a source can't settle a question, we void it - your points stand and your accuracy isn't touched. Get one wrong past us? The cost is bragging rights, and we'd still rather hear about it.
